Rebuilding Bear&Wolf: Our Journey Back to the Wild

Updated: Nov 22

Hey Bear&Wolf Family,

Jake here—the founder, the guy behind the scenes, and the one usually chasing after two toddlers with a coffee in hand. I wanted to take a moment to share a bit of our story with you all.

Juggling toddlers by day and Bear&Wolf by night—worth every moment.

Why We Stepped Away

A while back, Demi and I decided to embrace the open road and move into a van with our little ones. We'd long had this dream of traveling the world, living simply, and making memories as a family. Those days on the road were some of the happiest we've ever had—waking up to new landscapes, cooking over campfires, and teaching the kids about the wonders of nature.

But as life often goes, a work opportunity came knocking that we couldn't ignore. It led us to uproot and move to Cyprus. While Cyprus has its own charms (and plenty of sunshine), it meant putting Bear&Wolf on pause and stepping away from the van life we adored.

Why We're Coming Back

Over the past months, we've been humbled by the countless messages from our amazing customers and friends. Many of you asked when Bear&Wolf would return, sharing stories of your own adventures and how our gear was a part of them. Some of you missed out the first time and were eager for a chance to join the journey.

We're planning to move back to the UK soon, and we can't shake the feeling that Bear&Wolf still has a place—not just in the market, but in the community we always envisioned. There's a gap we believe Bear&Wolf can fill, especially when it comes to bringing together like-minded folks who cherish the outdoors and real connections.

The Challenges of Rebuilding

Rebuilding Bear&Wolf hasn't been a walk in the park. Most nights, after the kids are finally asleep, I dive into work—tweaking the website, coordinating with suppliers, and sketching out ideas. Balancing a full-time job, solo parenting (while Demi's away), and the logistics of operating from Cyprus has its hurdles. Time zones, shipping challenges, you name it. But each small step forward feels like a significant victory.

What's Ahead and What Excites Us

I'm incredibly excited about our upcoming collaboration with Scottish Highlands illustrator Jack Spowart. His beautiful, unique line drawings capture the essence of the wild landscapes we all love. Seeing his art on our new Bear&Wolf clothing pieces is something I can't wait to share with you.

We're also looking forward to hosting our first meetup back in the UK. The idea of gathering with you all—sharing stories, exploring the outdoors together, and building the Bear&Wolf community—is what drives me on those late nights.

So excited to see the final piece.

A Shoutout to Demi

I have to take a moment to talk about Demi. She's currently away, absolutely smashing her goals in basic training. Joining the military has always been something she's wanted to do—a challenge she's eager to take on—and I couldn't be prouder. The kids and I are counting down the days until her graduation. Her determination inspires me every day, and we can't wait to have her back home.

Thank You for Being Part of Our Story

Reigniting Bear&Wolf is about more than just the products; it's about reconnecting with a community that feels like family. It's about the shared love for adventure, the outdoors, and those moments that make life truly special.

I want to thank each and every one of you for your support, your patience, and your enthusiasm. Whether you've been with us from the start or are just joining the journey, you mean the world to us.

Stay tuned for more updates—we've got plenty in store, and I can't wait to share it all with you.

Here's to new adventures and the road ahead!

Warmly,

Jake
