Bear&Wolf’s First Highland Games

We recently took a HUGE risk, within the space of a week we signed up, scrambled together a stall and attended our first real life event, the Gordon Castle Highland Games.

Coming from purely selling online, this was a massive milestone for us that came quicker than we was expecting. Safe to say, we’ve definitely caught the event bug and can’t wait to do more!

Real Conversations, Real Feedback

Hands down, the highlights of the day was connecting with everyone who stopped by our stall. The enthusiasm, feedback, and genuine excitement for Bear&Wolf was a swift reminder of exactly why we started this journey. Real conversations trump social media likes any day!

Hoodies Gone by 11am!

We went to this with no real expectations, if we covered our stall fee then I would have been happy, we couldn’t have anticipated such a brilliant response. Our hoodies were completely sold out by 11am (gates opened at 10am!), which genuinely blew us away. We always knew that our goods would perform better when people could physically feel the quality but we didn’t expect to sell out. Rest assured, a restock is well underway!

Upcoming Highland Games: Come Say Hi!

Naturally, we caught the event bug and we’re excited to announce we’ll be at two more Highland Games events soon:

  • Forres Highland Games – 5th July
  • Inverness Highland Games – 12th July

We’d love to see you there. Drop by, have a chat, and check out our latest creations.

What Are the Highland Games?

If you’re new to Highland Games, they’re traditional Scottish events that celebrate Scottish and Celtic culture through various athletic competitions, bagpipes, Highland dancing, and community gatherings. Popular competitions include the caber toss, stone put, and hammer throw. Highland Games events aren’t just about the sport but they’re also a celebration of heritage, camaraderie, and local crafts and businesses like ours.

Thank You

A massive thank you to everyone who came out to support us at Gordon Castle. I also want to add a special thank you to my good friend Sian, who not only captured the great images in this article, but kept tabs on the feral mini Bear&Wolf team! Couldn’t have done it without you, I’ll drop a link to her work below:
